.:Because my favorite game series' section is without threads. x3:.

I think this game is probably the most well-known out of the entire series. It was my first, actually, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, I've rated it as my 'favorite' game for quite a while now; and on multiple forums have taken the username 'Fate' because it's Fayt's Japanese name. x3

What I loved about the game most was its gameplay. I thought the HP/MP kill was interesting, and also the fact that you couldn't get by just by mashing the attack button. If you do, you risk breaking your gauge and being dazed. It provided a good enough challenge for me. And also, Item Creation in this game was so broad that I loved it. I mean, there was a list of hundreds of different items and a ton of different inventors you could have, all to make some valuable equipment.

I could rant for a long time about the game, but I won't. x3 I think a few people here have mentioned they've played the game?

Rant :P do you mean discuss :P because generally rants are associated with complaining/criticisizing.

This was my first Star Ocean game as well, and I loved it too. I loved the character diversity, and I had fun in battles. I just wasn't a big fan of the soundtrack, like it had some nice tunes in it but I found the dungeon music was a little bland, and not so sci-fi-ish. But I loved the story of this game, the twist was done quit well I must say.

My favourite character was Maria :) I loved her voice actor, and a gal with a beam gun is pretty sick, she sure can kick SCI FI DERRIERE! :D

Loool, yeah, bad word choice, there. XD I guess I was trying to say 'ramble' instead. Heh-heh! x3

Oh, Maria was just awesome! And her Energy Blast or whatever the name was, it was godly. O= Sophia was pretty cool, too, and I heard that she's amazing when it comes to stunlocking by using Thunder Flare, but I've never played the game using only Symbology before. Sounds interesting, though. =S

Till the End of Time was my first Star Ocean game also and I loved the game too. Great story, battle system was really great (didn't like the MP kill though).
I had a lot of trouble defeating the final boss and I was really happy when I succeeded. :)

I can't remember who's mine favorite character. I have to redo the game sometime.

I had loads of trouble beating the final boss too! MP kill was quite a nuisance sometimes since I had to watch out for that on both my mage characters AND my non mage characters, killed my item stock pretty fast. Also I wasn't a fan of some of the limits on items, like Blueberries or something, I can only hold 20 of them :O

Seconded. >> I got annoyed of having to go to Gemity and buying twenty of those things that restore your HP by 80% (something Enhancers?). It was a huge pain.

MP Kill is pretty fun when you're the one MP killing. x3

I was going to get this game but was discouraged to do so by a few of my friends who said that they had played it for like two hours and were bored out of their mind. I am usually open to at least giving a game a chance but at the time it was still going for full price and I didn't wanna buy something that I would get tired of only two hours in. I've been skeptical of games, Enchanted Arms to name one, and ended up really enjoying the game as a whole. This hold true for Star Ocean as well?

To be completely honest, I had my doubts about the game at first, barely knowing much at all about the game other than its genre. I saw a little alien reference of Star Ocean 3 in Radiata Stories and thought, "Ugh, it must be one of those mutant space games or something." Still, at the time I was trying to experience some new Square Enix (published, though, in this case) games, so I bought it anyway, thinking I wouldn't like it at all.

When I started to play it, I was surprised how different it was from what I had expected. I didn't think I'd get such an RPG, you know? I thought science fiction would completely dominate the game, but it doesn't. You have that swords and magic aspect, which is really nice in a game with a setting like it. But yeah, i was skeptical at first, too, but I loved it in the end. That's just me, though. =3

I'm definitely gonna have to give it another chance then because even reading all the reviews that I have rate Star Ocean very highly. I like the idea of being able to create your own weapons. Does it have limits like say synthesizing in FF IX or can you really pick what every two things you can think of and try to combine them?

Item Creation is probably the largest and most complex in Star Ocean 3 compared to the other 3 games. Generally speaking, though, it's quite huge. See, you get lots of different types of...talents, so to speak. For example, Synthesis, Alchemy, and Compounding. You don't have to use any materials, but instead you have NPC as Inventors you can recruit (and your own party are Inventors, too). Then, you pay money to have them create random things, with the sum of money different in accordance to what is being created.

Kind of confusing, I know. That's just a very basic explanation, though. If you want more, I'll explain it to you.

Til The End Of Time was also my first Star Ocean game in the series. It has been my favorite for years now and probably always will be. Not just for being a big part of my childhood but because of the amazing graphics, catchy music and difficult challenges along the way. I'm actually playing through it again but having great difficulty defeating that Peter Pan wannabe (Robin Wind). I know HOW to beat him but daaamn. I need to watch my items more closely...

It's my first Star Ocean as well. I enjoyed it a lot, though I didn't like the...plot after a certain point.

Battles were fun, dynamic, and I like how you can control any character you wish. MP deaths are not fun. The special attacks can be pretty fun.

Characters were nice, did like the voicing although perhaps it was mixed a bit too soft (the background music/noise overpowers the voices at times). I like most characters, except Maria...bit too moody for my tastes, especially later in the game. But the rest is all good with me.

I could never beat the final boss, and I don't particularly feel like trying again anytime soon. I think the last time I tried was a few years ago...still have the save file. Oh well.
