How was your nickname born?


My most used nick was born 8 or 9 years ago (I'm 21 now).
Back then Dragon Ball Z was a huge hit and all kids of my age were talking about it, mostly boys ofcourse :P At the same time, we got a internet connection for the first time and I was very excited about chatboxes, because they were very popular too.

So the first I got on it, I went straight to a chatbox (dutch 'old' TMF chatbox) and as a nickname I choose EvilGoku:rolleyes: There was this DBZ channel too named DBZcafé and I stayed there for several months. It were good times ^^
Anyways, I got an internet girlfriend there and she gave the nickname I use most now: Stuzzie.

It was originally StUz, first two letters from my surname and family name. It changed that to Stuz and after years I changed it to Stuzzie :)

I have been using Trance Kuja when I first finished FF IX, I was really into that game then:D
Now I mostly use it on gaming or RP forums..

When I first started posting on forums I had a stupid nickname based off some random art I used to draw. This was way back when the only forum I was on was a (now huge) D&D fan forum called Sorcerers Place, I don't post there any more, but after a while I made a donation and got a name change and custom avatar (on this forum, you don't get an avatar unless you do some kind of contribution to the forums/website, so everyone has a generic avatar which reflects on their post count).

I got an avatar of an ingame sprite of a wyvern from one of the D&D games where there was a wyvern mob called Frostbite (Icewind Dale if anyone ever played those), so I had my name changed to Frostbite.

On FFArena (which I'm not sure anyone bar a select few here will remember) I had the username Valefor. That was my first ever final fantasy themed fan forum and from there I got to know a good few people, including Lance (ty mirae for reminding me. Also Lolance) who introduced me to the original HHN, from where I reverted back to my nickname of Frostbite, or Frosty as people used to call me ;o And occasionally still do.


That was like mmm, a good few years ago 8D Aeyze was a name for an RP char I used briefly when I did D&D with some friends, I think the character got killed off remarkably quickly, but the name stuck. Since then I've used Aeyze for everything, usernames, emails, con-badge names; it's understandably never taken so I'm fairly sure any Aeyze's you ever come across will be me.


In FFXI for the past two years or so I've played my Aeyze on a different server, when I joined my current linkshell I got the nickname ezpz because people couldn't figure out how to pronounce it. From there I simply got refered too as words with -ze on the end, like "Hize!", or "RDMze" and stuff.

Now people call me zeze :3

Also lots of people on the internet just call me by my real name, Alice >.>; but thats so dull!

Oh do you mean nicknames online or in real life?

For online I don't get called by my nickname anymore. When I played Final Fantasy XI I decided to name my character Lindsay. Although I found it to be quite boring after around so I wanted to be called LilLindz.

Of course no one really used that very much, so they all abbreviated it to Lil.
They don't call me that anymore now since I stopped playing XD so they just call me by my real name.

For my nicknames in RL, I have two: Fern and cannibal. Again they are dying out. Fern happened a few years back because my teacher didn't realize he was calling me this in class, and he kept saying "Fern, can you read this paragraph?" and he kept looking at me, of course I wasn't responding since that wasn't my name. He then kept saying "What don't tell me you don't have the book?" and then I finally opened my mouth, "Um... who are you talking to?" He said, "You of course.." and then I was like, "well my name isn't Fern." and everyone just caught on to what he was calling me, and he realized to, so we all laughed :P

My other nickname came from an inside joke. People kept calling me this so they'd get a reaction out of me. Well we were talking about how celery could kill people because someone could choke on that. Then I was like "Well, now I know how to murder someone using a vegetable as a murder weapon" and then she was like laugh, and then I was like "but in order for me to not get caught, I would have to hide the evidence because it's inside them, but since I'm a vegetarian, I can't eat them. ONLY if they were made out of cheese I could." but then she kept saying how I was still a cannibal XD and then it became a huge joke with my chem class, even the teacher joined in!

My irl nick names are: Kimmy, Kimba, Kimster, Kimdo, Kimmelepimmelepommelepom (yes, really), and Kimono. lol

Online I always use the name Mirae, so most of the time it will be me as it's a play on letters with my real middle name, without the first letter of my surname. The Mirae on youtube is an imposter D<

Hmm, my nicknames are Tsushi, Tsu, Tsu-Tsu, Tsughey (Thanks to a special friend for that one <_< xD), Tsugay (eh-hem)...

I actually forgot how I got Tsushi, but Tsu-Tsu I got from a very good friend of mine. Tsughey I also got from another good friend of mine (:P!!), and Tsugay...I forgot how I got that one lol.

Another nickname of mine is Timo, which is based on my last name. I got it when I was still in Secondary School, attending English class. Someone ended up taking my seat, so I went to sit in the seat of someone else. When that person arrived, he was all "Ahhhrah Timo, don't take my seat!", and it stuck with me every since :P

When I started with Hell and Heaven Net back in 2001 I was thinking of a nickname. Final Fantasy IX was released in that year and I really was a fan of Zidane (still am). But having Zidane as a nickname wasn't really good, since there were more Zidane's active on the net. So I've put 007 behind it, because I'm also a James Bond fan and a little bit later also nl (for the Netherlands).

Online people also are calling me Ziddy and that's the nick I used in Final Fantasy XI and World of Warcraft.

Well, I won't go into my real life name (and nicknames), since I usually don't share it, so I'll explain my username.

Well, my username is usually Fate on a lot of different forums. This was due to the fact that I became a Star ocean fan at one point and Fayt was my favorite character. After a while, though, Fayt seemed too unoriginal, so I went with his Japanese name (Fate) so that it would be more simple but effective. I also adopted variations of Fate (Faten, Fataan, Faterz) sometimes, too.

As for my username here, it's quite simple. My MSN is Bluzerz (from the Faterz thing plus the word "blue"), so I went with Bluze. =P

My username originally started on the Digital Dive Forums (a Digimon forum) AGES ago when my name was Magnamon. The term 'Magna' was then used in every username I have had until I ended up with Magna Sanctimonia which is Latin for 'Great Virtue' (Zidane inspired obviously).

I really don't remember exactly how I came up with my internet nickname but I think I saw some kinda derivation of my name that I use Xithor, and I shortened it to Xithor. I can't remember exactly what the long name was though. Anyways I use Xithor for almost everything now.

See, my name is Trisha Marri. I was brainstorming on a good nickname with my friend, and she thought of putting my name as Marri, then Mar, and then Ram. We both liked the sound of Ram, so we just started using it since.

My name 'PhoenixWings' was made when I first got a phoenix pinion in FF8.
Ever sense I have used Phoenix Wings for every online game I play now. xD
