Do you think FF XIII - 2 will happen

It could be true, but even if it was, the chances that we're going to be seeing its release is very far, I think. After all, Final Fantasy XIII took four years after the first announcement to release, so I don't think we're going to have it quickly should it be true. Also, I heard they had Dissidia 2 planned (perhaps?), so if that's true, too, I think that would be first? =P

Oh, and they do still need to release Agito and Versus XIII...

Yes, they would use the same worlds and what not, but they would still have to go through all of the actions that the characters will have to use and what not. And the story line of that game would have to be made as well, along with all the CG that will be in it as well. Plus if they add any new characters they have to have that characters development. So it will most likley take some time if they were to make a sequel to FFXIII

And who knows, seeing that FFXIII-Versus will be a PS3 game, more of the story line from FFXIII could be answered. And even in the PSP Agito things may be answered that were not in the games. Seeing as all three of the games are connected, something between them will most likley be the same.

I don't think it will happen. They have too many projects to do anyway. The sales of Final Fantasy XIII were good, but not as good as other Final Fantasy games. They might just remake it for Japan or something, it could be something very mini - who knows?
Square Enix has wanted to a lot of different things but has cancelled a lot, like for instance they were going to remake FInal fantasy playstation one releases on to the PS2. Also I heard a remember of an X-3 with Rikku's story coming out.
But there is always a possibility, we will just have to wait it out. Personally, I want Versus and Agito before an XIII-2.

who cares this game is so epicly horrible and every good thing about this series of games is missing with i want my money back and it helped me make my decision about playing FFIV wich is no freakin way this game series is dead and FFXIII is not only the worst FF ever it is the most aweful video game i have every played

God I hope they don't, I hated FF13. Female protagonist and embarrassing dialogue didn't click with me at all (just like X-2.). But I don't think they will at all. They still have FFXIII-Versus coming out, which from what I have heard will be more my sort of game (more dark tone to it, plus TOWNS, world map and an airship.) not only that, but they have FF13-Agito for PSP, AND FF14 in the works too. They have a ton of other projects such as KH being worked on also.

So my answer would be no. They received a lot of criticism for FF13 by fans, so if they do bring out a second part, hopefully they'll change a few things.

Having that said I am not fond of FF13 either myself, I don't have a PS3 or 360 but I have watched loads of playthrough vids of it...linear corridors anyone? lol it just seems the old FF spark has been lost.
I wouldn't be surprised if they made a sequel if it was successful enough though, look at all the extra stuff they did with FFVII <.< but I kind of doubt they will since I believe it didn't sell as well as they expected, not sure of this so correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.

No, you're right. I don't think that it had as high of sale as they had hoped. Yet, I feel that because this specific game is within it's own little "series" other questions might be answered within the next two games that there might not even be a need for a sequel to it. Yet, xbox360 fans will be left in the dark seeing as Versus is only a PS3 game (Why there are doing that I have no idea. If realeasing one onto the system, why not the other as well?) I really think that they are hoping for another FFVII set up meaning they have all the games connected together, telling a whole "over-view" story. I don't know. I just hope more is answered within the series rather than making a whole other sequel.

However when they made the first one, there was much more than that to be done. Two years of production was systemic. Building the engine [most of the time is spent here], working out a battle system, creating characters. Designing worlds. If they decided and started on a project a lot of things would not have to be done, because they're already in place. Most new IPs take on average four years after starting the project, however the sequel on average two years. That's because a new IP requires a lot more work than one that's already established, since they can just build off of what they already have, instead of starting completely fresh.

Well it's not a rumour as square-enix said themselves they'd like to expand the story in FFXIII by making a sequel, they just wasn't sure if they would or not and it definatley wouldn't be any time soon.

FFXIII wasn't an RPG, said by the developers it said. It was a change of direction to get more people interested into the franchise (which worked) so for classic FF fans, it wasn't really all that good (well, I really enjoy the game, story and gameplay but other's didn't)

FFXIII just didn't give you the illusion of no linearity, rather just outright said "This is here and there" whereas other FF's are like "Well this is here...but there's a tree there" (FFX mainly). But just like FFXI, the world opened up and you could explore a lot more and not by stricted to one path. It was more of a action-dungeon crawler with a story.

I think a sequel is possible and I think alot of people would buy the game, especially seeing as they would only improve. The franchise isn't exactly going downhill, SE are just willing to try new things and test them to see what people like/dislike, which is pretty acceptable imo. Games like Crisis Core and Dissidia prove that SE can live upto the light of squaresoft.

I hope it will not happen. I enjoyed playing Final Fantasy XIII, but it didn't play like the old FF's. And they should work on getting Versus done and release more information about it, since that game was announced 4½ years ago!

I am going to think positive about this. Personally I am going to give SE a second chance on this one because FF XIII showed a lot of promice but didn't life up to its expectations. If FF XIII-2 does be as good as we know it could be SE might just redeem themselves and make shine a new (and hopefully much improved) light on FF XIII
