Just figured I would make one here as it looked so lonely!
Did you like X/X-2 or not?
Ten was better to me, X-2 just kind of seemed like a filler game. I did like parts of it though.
The sphere grid was annoying as anything in X-2, but other than that it wasn't too bad.
X was way better to me though. I loved the storyline for the most part. The only part I disliked was blitz because I truly suck at it, I lost the first game by 1 point the last time I replayed, but almost never bother to play after that.
I should have written this while I wasn't sick, i am sure it sounds very random and disjointed... haha.

I liked X a lot, great game. Loved it to bits! Blitzball was okay once you got some decent team members and trained them up :P
Though about X-2, nice graphics, mixed up music (nice piano pieces but horrible music other than that), good battle system, bad storyline. It had a few things that are worth mentioning, but X beats it all the way in my opinion.

10 was amazing. I truly loved playing the game, and I also liked the sphere grid. The final boss was a little bit easy tough, considering the hardest mandatory fight was overdrive sin, which was not at the end..
X-2 was, as I said before, fun, but the storyline is horrible, and it didn't keep me playing somehow.

I agree about how X-2 was definitely created for fan service and I certainly glad it was made after beating through X. Final Fantasy X is on top of my last next to Final Fantasy 9 - I found the game to be so mature, and beautiful.. It really connected with me.
I liked the Sphere Grid system except I was annoyed at the fact that I could not get enough Level 4 keys that I was not able to unlock all the super awesome abilities. I always became excited though to unlock HP spheres :D I loved seeing my HP increase hehe.
Blitzball was actually one of my favourite side games out of all the Final Fantasy. I got really into it; over here in Canada we are crazy about our Hockey - well I am not really a fan but Blitzball was like my Hockey pass time XD
I liked X.. but dislike X-2. The battle system was nice in X-2.. but the story was shit.
X had everything I liked about FF and it was the first I actually bought.
I had played FF7 at my cousins before though.

X is awesome on the sphere grid system, plus the ost and CG is amazing, great character development, and summons are cool!!!!
The reason why the game isn't my fav is because of the battle system. I prefer an active bar in X-2 and previous installments. Plus the fact the free roaming world map is gone kinda bugs me a little.
X-2 is like a spinoff to the story, but i wouldn't criticize or compared that it has different aspects to X. It has a cool battle system, awesome music plus the dress spheres. It also has a story that can twist depending on your choices and tons of side quests to branch out with it, which ironically is the fact that many people dislikes most. I wouldn't hate the game, just a bit dissapointed that the sequel couldn't extend much from the game.
Blitzball is the best minigame in ff history outside triple triad. I used most of my time at the game in it. That was in X tho, In X-2 it suck bad and i didn't put much attention if its not for the percentage.

I never bothered with the Blitzball mini-game. Tried it just once and sucked at it. xD
I could only score with Tidus' special, but he could only use it once..
So the game ended like 1 to 4.

I have to agree on this. It was a funny concept, but to be honest it was indeed way to hard to win the game.

I liked X, cool battle system, nice change to summons, sphere was a bit crap tbh i dont like having everyone the same and having to redesign the grid to max stats out. Story was very golod too.
X-2 definately a fan service game, also a game that was made by squaresoft (not alot of people know" and the merge happened a molnth before game was released. Best thing about the game was the music and battle system

I loved Blitzball. It was a bad move for them to change the system in X-2... What were they thinking? That was completely horrid!! -_-

I thought blitzball was alright, but I didn't get the hang of it. It was too hard for me :(
I'll ask you all for some tips if I ever play FF X again ^^

I really like Final Fantasy X because of the good story and the side quests you all can do. Blitzball is maybe one of my favorite mini-games in any Final Fantasy.
X-2 has a really bad story, bad music and what they did with Blitzball was really fail. It looked like some football management game.

I totally agree with you zid
Blitzball is an awesome mini-game and i used to play it all the time xD
but then blitzball in x-2 was not very good and i kind of tried to drive myself away from playing it same as everything else in final fantasy x-2 :p

I lol'ed when I read this. It definitely seemed that way though. I remember having to "train" my characters more on their Blitz stats, and making sure they were "okay" more than actually playing. :P

I really enjoyed X. Except Tidus annoyed me at times. I sometimes wished he was a little more mature, and had a better voice! :P lol..But overall I thought that the game was very well done, especially being the first one on the PS2, and also the first with voices.
X-2...what can I say that others haven't? At first I thought that it would be a decent one. I wish it had more of the X characters playable rather than just Rikku and Yuna. I never actually finished the game because, like others have said the grid system was annoying and I did not care for it. and like Tsuji said, it had only some good piano pieces and other than that the music was *thumbs down*..Which really was a downer for me because I've always loved the FF music! It really just makes the game(s) that much better.
But, X would has fallen into 3rd place for my favorite FF games.. X-2 doesn't even have a slot...not even last

Yeah, Blitzball Manager sucked!
I really like FFX myself. Not one of my favourite FF games but still one of my top 10 games in general. Everything about it is just good all round, but it lacks the genius of the 4 previous instalments. X-2 was still a good game, but some of the design choices boggled the mind. They made the entire experience so shallow, with the exception of the best battle system in the franchise.

I feel alone...
Seems to me like I'm the only person that really quite enjoyed (read: loved) X-2.
I can easily write down a massive wall of text here but this will suffice.
Pros:
Battle system = better than awesome
Music was nice, Nice piano pieces and 1000 words is my most listened to song of all time
Graphics were sharp
Yuna spread her wings so to say
The Dressphere system was a nice twist on leveling
Cons:
Did take a while to let the story pick up pace
Airship from the start? I wanna walk about first.
Absense of Lulu for some serious magical nuking
Lack of Seymour as a boss
Pros far outweighing the cons here.
I really like Final Fantasy X, the storyline and characters
but I kinda dislike Final Fantasy X-2, specially the battle systeem and the dressphere, just too shallow imo

I liked this game, it is just not my favourite. The game was a nice closure to Final Fantasy X. I just couldn't take this game so seriously as a Final Fantasy title; I didn't like the fact that they only had 3 playable characters, and the main villain was just not that strong.
But it still beats Final Fantasy 12 any day haha :D

Oh man, X-2 was my first Final Fantasy game ever,
kind of makes sense since im such a girly girl. XD
Buuutttt, i loved it, and i still do (: Im currently working my
way through New Game Plus for the fifth time (:
I ttried X-2 again yesterday, but stopped after 5 minutes ( was on Besaid in chapter 3, but forgot what the story was), and started FF7 again ( again no clue where I was, turns out I was on disc 2 in the sunken airplane xD)

I liked the game for it's music and story, so here's my rating:
Final Fantasy X:
Gameplay - 8/10: I liked the gameplay alot for it's summoning and attack style, but it all seemed to take too long and sometimes it was annoying.
Story - 5/10: The story was alright, but just kind of weird for a FF game. It was alot better than some, though.
Characters - 3/10: I absolutely HATED Tidus. He was annoying and he just really ticked me off at times, while everybody else had some sort of problem. Auron was the best part.
Music: 10/10: The music was astounding. It had all sorts of themes, from sad piano(To Zanarkand) to Techno(Seymour battle).
Overall, I'll give it a 7/10.
Final Fantasy X will always be my favorite, hands-down.
It's really hard for me to explain why I like this FF more than any of the other ones (aside from FFXIII) but, to me, this goes beyond having good characters, great story, and a great battle system. Even though the game was linear (but not obvious), the story was really good and maybe even possibly the first FF game whose "theme" centered around religion. Nomura even stated that he was worried about creating a game with that kind of theme because he was worried he might offend people/FF fans who were/weren't religious but, I think he did a really good job.
Final Fantasy X-2 was just a fan-service game.
I'll admit, that I liked the dress-sphere grid but other than that?
Vegnagun, Shyuin & Lenne, Leblanc Syndicate, the dancing ("Real Emotion" & "1000 Words" I thought were really corny ;; ) was really...annoying.
The story was weak (how in the world does Yuna forget about Tidus for two years?) and I'm really surprised that a storyline like that went through with being developed? I mean, the whole goal was to look for Tidus, right? (at least that's what I got out of the story)
I didn't like the character designs (the second character designer---※Akihiko Yoshida I believe is his name---collaborated with Nomura in creating the outfits for Yuna and Rikku.), and I wish X-2 elaborated more on where some of the characters came from instead of creating them and just sticking them in a "sequel" to add more characters.
Quite honestly? I rather have taken Final Fantasy X-2 International + Last mission....if it were released in North America. But, X-2 really shouldn't be taken seriously, imo.
(※Yoshida is also responsible for creating Serah Farron---looking 15 years old instead of 18 because of her attire and the fact that her standing next to Snow practically makes her look even younger and making him look like a pedophile. Serah's school uniform was inspired by a character in "Bible Black" ._. but, that's me being off topic. )

You are absolutely right on this my friend. Oh and Spirasdestiny, you really like romances don't you? As for all who say Blitzball was hard, I disagree. The first time I played FFX I sucked 'cause I didn't have the Jecht shot. The second time I played the game I got the Jecht shot by winning that overcoming Tidus memories thing and Blitzball became easy as.

10 rocks but if it had the same battle mode as 12 it would be better and the sphere grid beside the story line characters and weapons it was the best part. When tidus died i cried so did every one in my family

My personal favorite would be Final Fantasy X.
The graphics are astonishing, the voices seem to fit and the character designs are much more appealing for me. Especially Yuna (she looks so beautiful and elegant in her summoner kimono and I also prefer her staff). I thought Tidus was a joy to play through also. The only thing I didn't like was the narration because of the voice changes between the actual voice actor back to being in character with Tidus moments after. It was just a little irritating for me...
The story was touching and the scenes were almost magical.
As for my thoughts/feelings on the sequal game, I did like it but found it to be rather disappointing in comparison. It seemed more like a fan-based game due to high requests rather than a part two of FFX. Yuna wore short-shorts (which shocked me since she was so modest previously though I am aware of her more carefree attitude and traits), Rikku wore next to nothing and Paine (who I instantly fell in love with) was... like one of those hot biker chicks. The dress spheres were just like mini games to me. Lets play dress up! Sort of thing. The general thought was clever though, being able to switch back and forth from White Mage to Black or Gunner to Songstress in battle has saved my ass a few times. And the fact there are two endings? Brilliant.
Variety was not an issue in FFX-2 but FFX will always be my favorite out of the two.
It just seems more timeless. A classic, rememberable game.
